Pamela Moore, phenomenal talent and Queensryche Leading Lady!

KC –

HI, IT’S BEEN A BATTLE TRYING TO GET OUR SCHEDULES SYNC’D TO DO THIS INTERVIEW. SO FINALLY, HERE WE ARE! THANKS FOR MAKING THE TIME TO DO THIS. AND I GOTTA SAY YOU ARE SMOKIN’ HOT!

PAMELA-

Thanks, Yes, my schedule has been extremely busy but I wouldn’t want it any other way.  I feel good when I am accomplishing something every day!  Thanks for your patience!

KC-

BORAT IS FOREVER IN LOVE WITH   PA—MELA,  WE ALL ASSUME THAT IT’S PAM ANDERSON, ANY CHANCE WE ARE MISTAKEN?

PAMELA-

I saw that movie and that scene was hilarious but poor Pammy…. My god, she looked so frightened!  I am so surprised Borat came out of it unscathed… he was so “politically incorrect” on so many levels in that movie!  (Laughs)

KC-

SO I NEED TO KNOW, ON YOUR CD, STORIES FROM A BLUE ROOM, THE SONG “DIVE INTO ME” HAS REALLY LUSTY VOCALS AND RECALLS, AT LEAST TO ME AN ANN WILSON OVERTONE. ANY INFLUENCE THERE?

PAMELA-

Oh yes, I have been a big fan of Ann Wilson and her sister Nancy.  They were a big influence on me growing up, as well as other artists.  I can’t say that I intentionally set out to make my voice sound like Ann’s nor do I think the song sounds like Heart. “Stories From A Blue Room” is definitely a CD unique in sound.  I do have my own vocal style but I am sure their (Heart) influences, as well as others, are deeply set in the make-up of who I am now as a singer and performer.  I believe artists tend to inspire other artists and in turn we weave those influences into our own personal style, sometimes.

KC-

WHICH BRINGS ME TO MY NEXT QUESTION. WHO ARE YOUR INFLUENCES? AND WHY?

PAMELA-

I have so many artists who I am drawn to for one reason or another.   I have to say that I really don’t like to answer this question because I am afraid it pigeon holes me into a certain “Style” and I am open to so many kinds of music.  I feel that staying open minded gives me a little more depth as an artist.  It also depends on the mood I am in on a particular day.  I think I am more influenced by actual songs.  If a song has a lot of sincerity, passion and truth to it, I am hooked!

Having said that I love U2, because of the lyrical content, the messages and stories Bono comes up with and how it ties into the music.  Chris Cornell is a major influence as far as his voice! Back in the day, I listened to a lot of Journey; they were the ultimate “anthem-ballad” songwriters.   I am very fond of heavy, bass driven music, Industrial music with harder edged guitars.  This is the current direction I am writing towards for the new record.

KC-

YOU HAVE GREAT RANGE, YOUR VOICE IS OUTSTANDING. HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN SINGING? WHERE DID IT ALL START?

PAMELA-

Thank you!

Well, it all started with my mother dragging me to casting calls for her little theatre group she was involved in, when I was very young.  I was so mesmerized by the whole process, lights, staging, costumes; my interest took off from there!  I wanted to learn how to play an instrument but we were very poor and couldn’t afford lessons.  Somehow I got a hold of a very inexpensive guitar  (I think it was given to me) and I started learning how to play on my own.  My parents thought I showed enough tenacity that they would take a chance and purchase a better guitar, one with a little nicer action to it so my fingers wouldn’t bleed! (Laughs) Later, we got an upright piano and I started writing more songs.  I was also blessed with some amazing music teachers at my elementary and high school.  They really saw my interest in music and songwriting and gave me the encouragement I needed to keep going.   I think I wrote my first song at the tender age of 7.  Too bad public schools no longer have art programs as they once had.  Our kids today are really missing out and it’s sad.

KC-

YOU’VE BEEN PERFORMING WITH QUEENSRYCHE FOR A LONG TIME, TELL US ABOUT THAT AND ANY FUTURE PLANS WITH THEM? WHAT OTHER COLLABORATIVE EFFORTS ARE IN THE WORKS.

PAMELA-

This year, there are no plans to work for Queensryche however, my alliance with all the members is strong and I anticipate we will join forces again at some point, either with the band as a whole or individually.  It’s truly been a blessing to work with them.

Lately, I have had the good fortune to be asked to be a featured guest singer on various releases. One is with a band called Eden’s Curse and the song is Angel’s And Demons. A duet shared with their lead vocalist Michael Eden. Word is the song is getting very favorable response in Japan and across Europe.

I also am featured on a brand new EP called Solna “Sent From Heaven”.  Produced by Zane Peterson.  The music direction takes me “back to my roots” of melodic rock and features a killer ballad called “Feel Alive”.   I proudly share my vocals with the very talented Mr. Ralf Scheepers (Primal Fear). The Full length CD Solna “Eurameric” will be released sometime Spring 2009.

Currently, I plan to perform live shows with my solo band and continue writing material for my next record.

KC-

TELL US WHAT’S IN STORE FOR PAMELA MOORE?

PAMELA-

As I mentioned, I am currently writing material for a new solo record and bookings are underway for the summer.   I have also been asked to guest sing on a few other CD’s with different bands.  I think those projects will start this summer as well.   It’s going to be a fun year!

KC-

WE HAVE A LOT OF UP AND COMERS AND INDIE NEWBIES IN THE BIZ, WHAT WOULD YOU TELL THEM TO FIND SUCCESS IN THIS BUSINESS.

PAMELA-

Honestly, to be in this business you must LOVE what you do!  It’s a very different ball game now then it was a few years back, so your head must realize that it’s more about the journey then the prize of greatness!  Don’t get me wrong, being able to “make it” in the business and live comfortably is a dream come true but most importantly you need to enjoy the journey, because if you don’t, you will find yourself miserable, and that’s not a way to live.  Be grateful for everything you have.  Surround yourself with people who really care about you and that you can trust… and most of all… be true to yourself as an artist.

KC-

ANY BIG TOUR DATES WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT?

PAMELA-

Not yet, but as soon as we have bookings we will have it posted to my websites!

KC-
